Thanks for visiting “The long road home” – my blog that promises thoughtful travel stories about what we learn through travel, as well as practical tips for learning to travel.
I’m a retired Canadian writer and editor, and I’m travelling with my husband, Bill, who is also retired, from his career as a mechanical engineer. We took off in September 2019 to travel abroad for a few years. I do the writing, we both take photos, and Bill fulfills that vital role of technical support.
We believe that thoughtful travel leads to continuous learning. Long after the trip is over, the journey continues as you ponder your memories as well as the sights, sounds, feel, smells and tastes of your adventures. We are definitely into the tastes and smells of culinary delights wherever we go!
We’ve also come to realize that life is short. You have to make your own dreams – whatever they are – come true for yourself before it’s too late.
We’d love to hear from you! Please send your comments and any questions you may have about what we’re doing and why.
Bon voyage!
Kathryn
